Saugus has claimed another big winner in the Mass Lottery.
Amanda Goffermann won the multi-state Lucky for Life game, which offers a prize of $25,000 a year for life, according to a statement from the lottery’s website. Goffermann won after the first five numbers on her ticket matched the ones selected in the drawing, which took place on Dec. 15.
Goffermann’s numbers were random numbers that she had been playing for a span of nearly two years, she said.
Goffermann picked up her prize at the Massachusetts State Lottery Headquarters in Dorchester on Dec. 18. Rather than taking the $25,000 each year, she decided to receive a one-time payment of $390,000 before taxes.
She said she is going to use the winnings to pay for property and travel. The winning ticket was bought by Goffermann in Peabody at the Lowell Street Market, located at 672 Lowell St.
Lucky for Life drawings take place seven nights a week.
