SHENZHOU-13 ASTRONAUTS TO CONDUCT EVAs

China’s Shenzhou-13 astronauts will conduct extravehicular activities (EVAs) for the second time on Sunday.

As planned, astronauts Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu will conduct EVAs, with astronaut Wang Yaping staying inside to support her crewmates to complete the operations.

PEROVSKITE SOLAR CELLS

Chinese and foreign scientists have jointly developed perovskite solar cells with a self-recovery capability and high stability in humid environment by introducing polymer.

They found that polyvinylpyrrolidone, a long chain insulating polymer, could form hydrogen bonds with ions in the cells and also prevent moisture in the air from invading perovskite materials.

NEW WHITE TRUFFLE SPECIES

Chinese researchers have discovered two new species of white truffle in southwest China’s Yunnan Province. The new species named Tuber songlu and Tuber qujingense belong to a truffle genera called Puberulum. Both of them provide a vital source of food and revenue.

The study, published in the journal Phytotaxa, once again proves that Yunnan is a global leader in biodiversity, and is a key area for studying the speciation and diversity differentiation of truffles.
