Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Press Headliner (“Press Headliner”, “we”, “us”, “our”), published by 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit pressheadliner.com (the “Site”), read our headline digest, submit our contact form, or otherwise interact with our services. By using the Site you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

We collect three categories of information. First, information you provide directly: when you use our contact form you provide your name, reply details, subject selection, and the contents of your message, which may include correction requests, news tips, advertising enquiries, or privacy requests. If you subscribe to any newsletter or alert we offer, you provide the delivery address you nominate. Second, information collected automatically: when you visit the Site our servers and analytics tools record technical data including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, dates and times of access, and approximate location derived from IP address. Third, information from cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 5 below.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Press Headliner is a public news digest. Reading our headlines requires no account, and we do not require registration, payment details, government identifiers, or precise geolocation to read the news. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age, and the Site is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through the contact form, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and secure the Site; deliver and improve the headline digest, sections, and page performance; respond to contact-form messages including corrections, tips, advertising, and privacy requests; measure readership in aggregate so we can understand which stories and sections serve readers; detect, prevent, and address technical faults, abuse, spam, and security incidents; comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service; and communicate with you about your enquiry. We do not use contact-form messages for unrelated marketing, and we do not publish a tipster’s identity.

4. Legal Bases and Consent

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on: your consent, where you have given it (for example, optional cookies or subscriptions, withdrawable at any time); performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (responding to enquiries you submit); our legitimate interests in operating a secure, measurable news publication, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already performed.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies, small text files stored on your device, in three groups. Essential cookies keep the Site functioning, remember basic preferences, and protect forms against abuse; the Site may not work properly without them. Analytics cookies help us count visits and understand reading patterns in aggregate form. Advertising cookies, where advertising is served, may be set by us or by advertising partners to deliver and measure advertisements and to limit repetition. You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them; blocking essential cookies may impair Site functionality. Where required by law, we request consent before setting non-essential cookies.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows: with service providers who process data on our behalf under contract (hosting, content delivery, analytics, spam prevention, and advertising delivery), limited to what they need to perform their services; with 24World Media, our publisher, for the operation of the publication; where disclosure is required by law, court order, or lawful government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Press Headliner, our readers, or the public; and in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of the publication, subject to this Policy. Aggregated or de-identified statistics that cannot identify any individual may be shared publicly, for example in aggregate readership reporting.

7. Advertising and Third-Party Links

Advertisements on the Site may be delivered by third-party advertising partners who set their own cookies and collect data about your visits to this and other sites to provide interest-based advertising, as described in Section 5. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through your browser controls and applicable industry opt-out tools. The Site links to external websites, including sources cited in our reporting; this Policy does not govern those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

8. Data Retention

We retain contact-form messages for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and maintain editorial records — ordinarily up to twenty-four months — after which they are deleted or de-identified, except where a correction record, legal obligation, or ongoing dispute requires longer retention. Server and analytics logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to security and measurement, ordinarily up to thirteen months. When retention ends, data is deleted or rendered irreversibly anonymous.

9. Data Security

We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a news publication website, including access controls on administrative systems, transport encryption for pages served over HTTPS, and limitation of personal-data access to staff with a work need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you submit information at your own risk. If we learn of a breach affecting personal information, we will respond as applicable law requires.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to your local data-protection authority. Residents of certain United States states, including California, may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sales” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined by law; as stated above, we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, use our Contact page marked “Privacy Request”. We will verify your identity proportionately before acting and respond within the timeframe applicable law requires, ordinarily forty-five days for verified consumer requests. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

11. International Transfers

Press Headliner is published in the United States, and information submitted to us is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

12. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Controls

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals or Global Privacy Control signals. Where a Global Privacy Control signal is recognised as a valid opt-out under applicable law, we honour it for the browser or device transmitting it to the extent required. Otherwise, you can manage cookies and advertising choices as described in Sections 5 and 7.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

14. Contact Us About Privacy

Press Headliner is published by 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States. Privacy questions and requests should be submitted through our Contact page marked “Privacy Request” so they reach the responsible editor promptly and create a tracked record.

15. Categories of Personal Information

For clarity under state privacy laws that require categorisation, the personal information described in this Policy falls into the following categories: identifiers you submit (name and reply details in a contact message); the contents of communications you send us; internet and network activity information generated by your visit (pages viewed, referring addresses, browser and device data, and approximate location derived from IP address); and inferences drawn from reading activity in aggregate, used only to understand section performance and never to profile an identified individual for sale or cross-context behavioural advertising by us. We collect these categories from three sources: directly from you, automatically from your device and browser, and from service providers that deliver analytics, hosting, and advertising functionality under contract.

16. Purposes Mapped to Categories

Identifiers and message contents are processed to answer your enquiry, operate our corrections and tips process, and maintain editorial records. Network activity information is processed to secure the Site, measure audience size in aggregate, diagnose technical problems, and improve page performance. Advertising-related identifiers set by partners are processed to deliver, cap, and measure advertisements and, where you have not opted out, to make advertising more relevant. We do not process any category for purposes materially different from those disclosed here without updating this Policy first.

17. Your State Privacy Rights in Detail

If you reside in a state with a comprehensive privacy law — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, among others — you may have the rights described in Section 10 together with a right to appeal a refusal. To appeal, reply to our decision through the Contact page marked “Privacy Appeal” and a second reviewer will reconsider. Where your state law provides a right to opt out of profiling or targeted advertising performed by third parties on this Site, you may exercise it through browser cookie controls, recognised opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control, and the opt-out mechanisms of advertising partners. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

18. Data Minimisation and Storage Limitation

We collect the minimum information a public news site needs: no reader accounts, no payment data, no precise location, and no behavioural profiles built for sale. Contact-form fields are limited to what an editor needs to answer you. Analytics are configured to aggregate rather than identify wherever the tooling allows. When the retention periods in Section 8 expire, deletion is permanent and includes backups on their normal rotation cycle.

19. Accessibility of This Policy

This Policy is part of the Site’s permanent legal pages. If you require it in an alternative format for accessibility reasons, request it through the Contact page and we will provide it promptly. In the event of any conflict between a summary of this Policy published elsewhere and this page, this page controls.

20. Children’s Privacy in Detail

Press Headliner is a general-audience news publication. We do not design any feature for children, do not offer accounts, games, or interactive services likely to attract children, and do not knowingly solicit information from anyone under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, they may request its deletion through the Contact page marked “Privacy Request”; we will verify the request proportionately and delete the information promptly, together with any reply correspondence we hold.
